Venus di Praiano

Location and Surrounding Area
Located in Praiano, halfway between Positano and Amalfi, this exclusive eight-bedroom villa is the perfect place for a stylish break on one of the most celebrated stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Its highly desirable and secluded position, above the stunning coastline, surrounded by large terraces planted with palm, orange and lemon trees and Mediterranean flowers, makes this elegant villa an exclusive oasis of privacy and peace.

Despite its mountainside setting, Praiano has always had a strong connection with the sea. Its ancient name likely derives from the Latin for “open sea” because the town sits on a cape along the Amalfi Coast. The town has long been known for fishing, including the production of nets, and later coral fishing. Evidence of the fishing tradition can be seen at the Marina di Praia beach, which is often covered with small wooden boats and heaps of fishing cages and nets.

The villa is a few kilometers from Positano. The sight of Positano from a distance is breathtaking: charming pastel-toned houses scattered across a spectacular strip of coastline, stunning blue seascapes and narrow alleyways adorned with wisteria and lemon trees. From Positano, all the other treasures of the Amalfi Coast are just a short and incredibly scenic car or boat ride away. Seaside holiday enthusiasts must visit the parasol-dotted Spiaggia Grande, a stunning beach located at the base of the town’s tumbling terraces.

The town of Amalfi is best known for its sun-filled piazzas and oversized 9th-century cathedral. With a seeming maze of streets and staircases, Amalfi is pretty but petite. Though there is a small beach, it is genuinely walkable in about 20 minutes. While Piazza Duomo and the main street are home to most of the town’s shops and restaurants, do spend some time wandering and exploring the quieter side streets, where you will find arched passageways, hidden gardens, and tiny piazzas.

Glamorous Ravello is built higher up on the hills. It ticks off the cultured villas and has a lovely main piazza, with lots of little cafés for al fresco dining. Ravello is famous for its ravishing gardens and stupendous views, the best in the world according to former resident Gore Vidal. Villa Rufolo is the setting of the town’s renowed summer music festival, while Villa Cimbrone’s tiered garden is best known for its sculptures and gorgeous pergolas.

Venus di Praiano is 55 km from Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport, 68 km from Naples Capodichino International Airport and 294 km from Rome Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. The very center of Praiano is less than 1,5 km from the villa, Conca dei Marini is 6 km, Positano is 7 km, Amalfi is 10 km, Minori is 14 km, Maiori is 16 km, Ravello is 16 km, Sorrento is 21 km, Nerano is 28 km, Vietri sul Mare is 32 km, Pompeii is 41 km, Herculaneum is 56 km, and Naples is 63 km.
